Lawn Mowing Tips
Cut grass high - 3" to 4". Tall grass will allow more sun to hit the grass blade & produce more food for the plant, provides shade to the soil to keep it cool and moist longer and controls weeds by blocking sun required to germinate seeds.
Use a mulching mower with a deep deck. Grass clippings are a natural fertilizer.
Sharpen the mower blade frequently to prevent freying the grass blade which will result in a brown appearance & leave the grass more susceptible to disease.
Mow frequently, never removing more than 1/3 of the grass blade.
Vary the mow pattern so the grass doesn't get pushed over in just one direction.
Trim the edges at a 90° angle 3" tall.
